Her Story

Born on August 4, 1976, in Logan, Utah, JoAnna's family moved often which she attributes to her "gypsy soul." Due to learning disabilities at a young age, countless hours of spelling practice, journaling, and reading were a focal point of her childhood and led JoAnna to a love of words. With pen in hand, JoAnna overcame these roadblocks and now views them as vital tools in her journey toward authorship.

During early adulthood, JoAnna mothered four sons, served in the U.S. Army, and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in History from Methodist University. Following college, JoAnna was introduced to Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series which grew into a deep love of high fantasy and influences her writing style today.

In 2007, JoAnna moved to Houston, Texas, where she and her family quickly began calling the city home. While pursuing a career in education, JoAnna worked during the evenings and summers on her debut novel, Flowers In Winter, which was released in 2018. This  is a work of inspirational fiction with a focus on bereavement, addiction and recovery, as well as healing from trauma; subjects close to JoAnna's heart and personal experiences.

JoAnna is signed with Cursed Dragon Ship Publishing and released of Daughter of a King, a young adult pre-life fantasy novel in the fall of 2022. Shortly after the release, she was also published in the anthology, Misspelled: Magic Gone Arwry, featuring her short story, "Plants & Prophecies", which is a prequel to Daughter of a King,
